NEW MUSIC: Dinje and Mason Dane roll together one new single remix "Wish I Knew"
You’ve probably heard the name Dinje if you’re somewhat familiar with or are involved in Perth’s rising music scene. He’s had more than a few years of experience and if you’re an artist yourself, chances are you’ve worked with Dinje or been to his music studio!
Well, Dinje has just released his first single of 2022, with a remix of his previously released Melodic hip-hop/Pop influenced single ‘WISH I KNEW’. This time, he called on Sydney’s Mason Dane, who’s been busy releasing his own EP and crushing his own milestones, to jump on the first verse of the ‘WISH I KNEW (REMIX)’.
Dinje and Mason Dane are both in comfortable territory, seamlessly gliding over each other’s melodic performances on the pop/hip-hop inspired beat created by producer MULAK. As a result, they’ve created a bright and uplifting masterpiece while the catchy hook lives in your mind, rent-free.
Speaking of inspiration, Dinje explains his take on this record: “Whether you're at the beginning, middle, or the end of a relationship, we all encounter uncertainty. WISH I KNEW paints a crystal-clear image of the uncertainty of not knowing if they love you back, or is it just you standing all alone on the bridge. It leaves you asking the question, do they feel the same for me as I do for them? Do they think of me? I WISH I KNEW”.
He also gives a shoutout to Mason Dane, as interstate collaborations are definitely a milestone for Perth-based artists and performers. “Man! A huge shoutout to Mason Dane for everything he’s doing. I’ve always been a fan and he just happened to be in that pop/hip hop space too. I sent him the record with an open first verse, got back this heater of a record in like, 24 hours and I’ve been itching to show it to the world ever since.”
‘WISH I KNEW (REMIX)’ is a true telling of Dinje’s skin in the game, as he found himself passionate about music from a very young age, and already had a few releases before he moved to Australia in 2012. Ever since, the artist has found himself in a full creative swing, spending time working on his writing, music production, sound engineering, and has been consistently releasing music ever since his breakout single ‘Instagram Models’ back in 2016.
