A month to go until Ms. Lauryn Hill's 20th anniversary tour
20 years on from her ground-breaking and award-winning debut solo album, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, the legendary singer and rapper Ms. Lauryn Hill will soon be touring Australia in 2019.
The anniversary tour of her critically acclaimed neo soul album will kick off on the 5th of February 2019, at HBF Stadium in Perth.
She will be joined by another famous name in the hip hop game, AKA friend and collaborator Nas. Best known for his 1994 debut album, Illmatic, many consider the East Coast rapper to be one of, if not the greatest, hip hop artists of all time.
Nas has also released a new collaborative album, Nasir, with another artist widely revolutionary artist in the hip hop scene, the brilliant and outspoken Kanye West.
Reflecting on her influential album, Hill says the release of The Miseducation in 1998 “chronicled an intimate piece” of her young life. Notably, she was only 23 at the time.
“It was the summation of most, if not all, of my most hopeful and positive emotions experienced to that date. I loved and believed deeply in my community’s ability to both love and heal itself provided it received the right amount of support and encouragement.”
