There's enough to satisfy Wavves' fans with the expected falsetto "oooh's", the grungy lo-fi post-rock sound that forms around the melancholic yet sometimes dark vocals.

Considering the band only formed in 2012 they sound remarkably in sync with one another, forming a very full and accomplished sound. I had to keep reminding myself throughout listening to the album that it is in fact their debut record.
Biffy Clyro - 'Opposites'
Q: What does a kazoo, a mariachi band, a set of bagpipes and three hirsute Scotsmen have in common?

Palma Violets - '180'
Palma Violets have only been kicking around for a couple of years, and the London quartet’s first release, 180, is definitely one worth hearing. The band have seemingly meshed grungy, washed out guitar, punk-style drums, plodding surf bass, 80’s post-punk vocals and both modern and classic keyboard to create an aural experiment that has paid off!

There is probably nothing more agitating in an album than one that can showcase a song that could potentially be one of your favourites for the year, and then only minutes later deliver something that you actually despise.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra - "II"
To most listeners, the sound will seem immediately engaging, but part the way through the lack of finding catching points outside of their lo-fi niche will lead to a loss of interest; often forcing 'II' to pleasant background music.
