Factory Summer Festival returns in 2021 with 4 massive shows across 2 cities
Following a courageously successful 2020 season, the team behind some of Australia’s most memorable festival experiences, Factory Summer Festival, have been clocking away to plan and create some magic this summer.
Having expanded to the Eastern states last year, Brisbane and Perth can expect the sizzle to return at two stunning new locations with a focus on delivering a unique experience for fans.
In the festival’s home city of Perth, Stadium Park at Optus Stadium will host three dates across December (18th, 24th, 31st) whilst Brisbane will make the move to the coveted Eagle Farm Racecourse where it will host one of the state’s biggest New Year’s Eve parties.
This year will also the inaugural partnership between Factory Summer Festival and iconic Australian media organisation, triple j.
Event Co-Director, Chris Bausor stated he was thrilled to have the support of one of Australia’s most loved broadcasters presenting the 2021 season.

Renowned for their best in class festival builds, visionary theming and stages, innovative activations and immersive worlds, this year’s sites will deliver epic surprises for punters and artists alike, taking inspiration from some of the world’s leading cultural experiences.
Bausor explained the change in festival date format has allowed the event to continue to put on grander shows, in a safe and healthy manner.
“Shifting from the three-week-long celebration to the four individual shows, allows us to move to bigger sites, with plenty of room for activations, staging, themed bars, rides, zones and of course, space for those who enjoy a boogie.”
“After Adapting to operating COVID safe events last year, we have deliberately designed our site to allow three square metres per person to provide for social distancing.”
Event Co-Director Aedan Buckley expresses the team’s profound gratitude at being a recipient of the Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) Fund which provided a lifeline toward planning for 2021 and allowed the Festival to continue to deliver a world-class product.
“Since 2017, Factory Summer Festival has been attended by more than 200,000 people supporting in excess of 400 Australian artist careers and creating over 6,000 jobs whilst delivering an economic impact of $24.3M in the two years preceding a COVID-19 impacted 2020.”
“We’re proud to announce that Factory Summer Festival 2021 will deliver $11.7M in direct economic impact in FY22, giving significant stimulus to the Australian economy and rebuilding confidence among artists, creative producers and consumers.”
The 2021 season is expected to create over 2,700 jobs for artists and creatives, trades and technicians, hospitality workers and media professionals, in addition to incorporating over 360 performing artists, further cementing the investment Factory Summer Festival has in maintaining a rich arts and culture community in Australia.
