FRINGE REVIEW: "Yummy Deluxe" will have you hungry for more
Are you ready for a high energy non-stop party celebrating all things femme and fabulous? Yummy Deluxe is the show for you. This incredible, award-winning ensemble of gorgeous humans will have you on the tip of your seat, hungry for more.
Located in the intimate Edith Spiegeltent, the show begins by launching straight into an electric group number, with all performers sparkling up on stage and giving the audience an exciting tease for what more was to come. The ‘hostess with the mostest’, Valerie Hex (also the creator of the show) then introduced the goal of the show — to celebrate all forms of femininity, which in my opinion was well achieved.
Each performer brought their own unique style and talents to the stage, and all were completely breath taking. Zelia Rose, recently named Number 1 Burlesque Artist in the World, took the audience through a whole series of emotions inspired by movie genre. Immensely talented Perth singer Joni and the Mooner amazed the audience with her powerful yet superbly controlled vocals, followed up by Jarrod Dewey who showed us all how to perform some rigorous acrobats on trapeze, all the whilst donning some tall stilettos. The wonderfully enthusiastic Hannie Helsden skilfully worked a good dozen hula hoops around her body, and the hilarious Jandruzze taught the audience… how to make sandwiches?
All the performers were up on stage numerous times throughout the evening, displaying a wide array of talents to the audience. This is a show you simply need to see for yourself as the acts on show were truly one of a kind with nothing but fun vibes to be felt and good times to be had. Tickets currently are available for all shows, with the last one on February 17th — don’t miss out!
