Confidence Man’s debut album released alongside nationwide tour

Talented and undeniably quirky Australian four-piece band Confidence Man has finally released their debut album Confident Music For Confident People, and we’re thrilled.  Since coming to light in 2016 with the release of their hit single 'Boyfriend (Repeat)', the band has left a lasting impression with their hilariously blunt lyrics, electronic-filled music and 'dorky' choreography. Despite being a relatively new band as well as triple j Unearthed High award winners, Confidence Man has entered the music scene with this album like a void needing to be filled.

Appearing at Falls Festival and even crashing Daryl Braithwaite’s ‘Horses’ performance with their dance moves in Fremantle earlier this year, Confidence Man sure know how to become noticed. Their multiple festival appearances performances are notorious for their over-the-top dancing and enjoyable audience interaction, whilst performing to their eccentric songs.

After hearing their first song on the album, 'Try Your Luck', you certainly get the impression this album is fittingly named. The lead singers – known by their respective pseudonyms, Janet Planet and Sugar Bones – both possess that distinct vocal style that you can’t help but feel is telling us another self-loving story. Lines in the song such as “I must confess, I’ve been sleeping with your ex ‘cause I heard he was the best” and “I never would've guessed he would get so obsessed, I’m not surprised” are only a taste of what is yet to come in the exceptionally crafted album. Singles previously released before the album release such as 'Don’t You Know I’m In A Band', 'Bubblegum' and 'Better Sit Down Boy' share this daring style, filled with upbeat synths and of course, their signature cowbells.

As regarded by triple j, Confident Music for Confident People is “popping with effortless cool, playful braggadocios, and sparkling sass” and we couldn’t agree more. Confidence Man’s irrepressible songwriting and shameless dancing will be sure to deliver outstanding performances that 2018 needs.
