Because Paris: Nouvelle Vague live at The Rosemount

So frenchy, so chic. Nouvelle Vague is responsible for some of the best covers of new wave classics such as “Love Will Tear Us Apart” (Joy Division), “Guns of Brixton” (The Clash) and “The Killing Moon” (Echo & The Bunnymen). They are also behind the best video on youtube:

After 12 or so years; some posit they need to grow up and do their own thing. I say- no way jose! If you're good at something stick to it, don't give up your day job etc etc.

The band were vibrant and entertaining for the capacity crowd in the main room at The Rosemount. A solid musical foundation with a rotating frontwoman is a recipe for success in my books; keep things nice and interesting mon ami. They kept the housewives and househusbands of North Perth (6006) happy for a good hour or so, rotating through classic covers and a few tracks from their new LP, I Could Be Happy.

One of Australia's favourite French act's thanks to SBS and ABC Radio, Nouvelle Vague are welcome anytime.

Mon dieu.
