The Joker works best as a mysterious, malevolent force who engenders fear and uncertainty. To make him a harmless prankster one week and to have him open fire on an orphanage the next week is inexplicable – and quintessential Joker.

Outrageous, silly fun that probably should have just left it at that
2016 saw the release of a high-end fashion line and 2017 welcomed the launch of an off white limousine service. To add to this, Client Liaison have been endlessly touring and kicked things off at Metropolis Fremantle last weekend! Read our thoughts on the Client Liaison experience here!
We discovered all that the Great Southern region had to offer during our winter sojourn at StableBASE. Read about our escapades here.
"...one of my favourite parts on like this Led Zeppelin tape that Dad taped off Triple M that had bits of them coughing after they had played ‘Immigrant Song’ or something, I was like “Oh that’s so cool!” You know, when you can hear the room, the place they’re in; it makes it sound real."
Of all the intriguing shows The Blue Room Theatre are putting on this year, Second Chance Theatre's Laika: A Staged Radio Play is certainly one of the most interesting. We were privileged enough to talk to the show's writer, director and lighting designer Scott McArdle to get a better grasp on this fascinating project.
Stella Donnelly played another amazing set at The Bird on the 24th of August, with New Nausea and Telete in support. Read about it here!
After boutique music festival Electric Gardens’ 2016 debut, where it was “raved about by everyone
who experienced it” and an equally-as- successful sophomore event in 2017 - where the
event completely sold-out Centennial Park in Sydney and cemented its longevity - Electric Gardens
are thrilled to reveal their first announcement of national dates and venues for their hugely anticipated 2018 event.
Returning for the first time since 2014 the Pharoahe Monch brings his faithful DJ Boogie Blind and irreverent hypeman Cam back to wow audiences down under in less than a month. Widely regarded as one of the best lyrical mc's in the game, Pharoahe Monch's creative motivation and output is consistent even after 20 years on the scene. The Monch hits the Rosemount Hotel on Friday 22 September.
Byrdon and Coogan return with their delightful blend of the comedic and the culinary. In this case, The Trip to Spain delivers precisely what we’ve come to expect from the series. Beautiful scenery, amazing food and a couple of weather beaten male comedians who flit between self-deprecation and vanity.
American Made subsists on the fumes of jaunty cynicism and glibness despite its potential as something greater: a searing, dark comedy. Its title is perhaps the cleverest and most honest thing about it, implying a kind of sleek superficiality which permeates this film.
Judgement Day is a historic accomplishment, one that merits a proper re-watch, not a mere piecemeal revisit through scenes on YoTube or TV
Falls Festival is turning 25 in 2018, and they have announced one of their best lineups ever to celebrate!
As one of Australia’s most acclaimed playwrights, Joanna Murray-Smith is truly at her peak in Switzerland. What I discovered during this 100 minute psychological thriller of a play (in its own right) about one of the greatest contributors to said genre of the 20th century (that is, Patricia Highsmith) was a highly riveting and suspenseful probing of the human condition, the modern world, and a tiny glimpse into the mind of a great writer.
Listen Out Perth is returning to HBF Arena for the second year, bringing a host of incredible talent to the west coast on 24th September.
Stella Donnelly is one of the most in-demand artists out of Perth right now, as both a solo artist and with her bands Boat Show and Bells Rapids. We were extremely privileged to get the chance to speak with her in the lead-up, and she was as lovely to talk to as her music is to listen to!
Fugue’s Arteries By Ancestry isn’t so much a play you ‘understand’ but rather one you witness and feel. It’s a visceral, often confronting performance that demands your attention and makes the most of it.
The Defenders will see three widely beloved street-level heroes - Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones - and Iron Fist teaming up to, presumably, defend. This is as good a time as any to rank each and every one of the Marvel Netflix shows.
Stakes. Character. Exciting action. Boom. For a few minutes, one of the guys who directed John Wick, David Leitch, took full command of his movie. It was beautiful if brief, and the only thing about Atomic Blonde worth remembering.
