PREVIEW: PHAROAHE MONCH AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND TOUR

Said to be ‘Ahead of his time’ by the legendary Eminem, carving a name for himself in Hip Hop culture, infamously and grotesquely, Pharoahe Monch has set his sights on Perth, ready to drop heavy bombs at the Wave Rock Weekender and The Rosemount about to make crowds roar “Get the F*ck Up”.

With the iconic ‘Festival Song’ and his recent Triple J single ‘Calling Out’ featuring Paul Dempsey, Pez is ready to rumble with crowds in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne following the release of his second album ‘Don’t Look Down’ reaching number 7. On the ARIA Albums Chart.

Alongside Pez are two BIGSOUND artists Ziggy Ramo and Jesswar in Brisbane and Sydney, JessB in Auckland, and opening up in Melbourne N’fa Jones.

With the backing of DJ Boogie Blind and the effervescence of hypeman Cam, Pharoahe will pumping out classics like ‘Simon Says’, ‘Push’, and ‘Welcome to the Terradome’, making it the first time to be back in Australia since 2014. Consistency with bars and instrumental selection makes the Bronx MC a contender with his pen, making himself a family name in Rawkus Records among sibling legendaries such as Mos Def and Talib Kweli.

Also working with Australian Hip Hop tyrants such as Hilltop Hoods and M-Phases, Pharoahe Monche should collide with hot embrace and arms wide open when entering Australia, allying himself with local talent Ziggy Ramo, Jesswar and N’fa Jones, making sure to cause riots in each and every city, making sure the “New York city gritty committee” will truly take it upon themselves to “pity the fool” that acts out against “the calm, the witty”, the “Pharoahe of king and queens”, Pharoahe Monch.
