I remember seeing [Great Gable] around two years ago, playing to about 15 people at the 459 Bar. Yes guys, I remember your cover of Paul Simon’s ’50 Ways To Leave Your Lover’. A truly great choice. Anyways, before this gets a little off track, Gable closed their set with the powerhouse new Foals guitar-tinged track ‘All Day Long’. Leaving the room ringing as they left, it did not take much to see why these guys pull the crowd they do.
With a fervent belief that true commitment to bad-taste transforms it into something fashionable, fun and infectious, Kirin is a lot to take in.
The crowd welcomed the delay and reverb-soaked vocals of Nick Allbrook with sweaty enthusiasm. POND used the full extent of their broad catalogue, cheerily bouncing between old songs and new.
The tour includes a 29th of November date at their beloved home-away-from-home the Rosemount, and if any one of you enjoys anything about the Poison City inspired punk rock resurgence you should grab a ticket before they are unavailable.
Earth’s mythical aura has developed over time and filled the void in some of their more average music. The critically claimed trio crawled in pace, repeated chords and glowed in the wall of sound, which coated the walls of the Rosemount.
On their second trip here within a year, La Dispute played a near perfect set, cramming in 19 songs largely drawing from their latest two, Rooms of the House and Wildlife.
