Foals have a live reputation that precedes them. After witnessing them on Sunday the 21st of July, a show multiple attendees I spoke to rated amongst the best they have seen, it is safe to see why.
Despite all the wild excitement, the trio appeared the perfect combination of vibrant, as well as calm and collected. The boys had done this countless times before, but this didn’t detract from their ability to send tremors and impart some sweet magnetic energy.
Will Wagner and the Smithies appeared every part bonafide rockstars on Friday night, with plenty of good songs and good vibes.
Yet the ease in which I basked in throughout the night was enough to convince me of one thing: nothing comes quite as close to being within near proximity of the sweet, sweet crooning of the Murph.

I’ve avoided Metro City since I saw someone get stabbed outside on a Friday night, but the lure of seeing British indie-rock kings The Wombats proved far too strong
They played a killer set lasting almost two hours, plucking mainly from sophomore LP The 59’ Sound and Handwritten, as well as throwing a couple covers in for good measure, with a great rendition of Bon Iver’s ‘Blood Bank’ sandwiched in the middle of ‘Angry Johnny and the Radio’ as well as covering The Misfits’ ‘Astro Zombies’ at the drunken request of a Welshman in the crowd.
