Upstream Color

What It's About: A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives.

Why We're Excited: A follow-up to his award-winning directorial debut time-travelling film Primer, it seems like Shane Carruth is prepared to further showcase his uniquely bizarre take on science fiction and wow us with the his idiosyncratic filmmaking with Upstream Color. In consistent with Primer, Carruth also stars as one of the two leading roles of the film.

Carruth's work also received praises from Ocean's and Contagion director Steven Soderbergh, referring to Carruth as the illegitimate offspring of David Lynch and James Cameron.
