Live Review: Tropical F*** Storm's Dominating Mojo's Set

Tropical Fuck Storm dominated Mojos at their Freo concert last Sunday night, owning the stage in the manner only bands of their calibre can. The place was packed and, as the band set up the crowd began a complicated game of human tetris, vacating and sliding into the spaces left behind,  as punters volleyed for prime positions and taller blokes generously let the shorter girls (like me) through.

Audience members were soon nodding in approval, grinning at each other like maniacs as strains of now-familiar songs filled the room. Singing along to 'You Let My Tires Down' was one of those shared experiences only great music can reward you with.

A cover of 'Staying Alive' was welcomed with enthusiasm by a by now well primed crowd. Technical difficulties towards the end of their set resulted in an awesome extended riff that seemed to go on forever.

I left reluctantly as the set ended, aware of a packed work day coming up, but as I walked down the sidewalk I could hear the crowd chanting “one more song” and wished I could join them.
