Fremantle Festival 2016 - Cool Perth Night's Cool Fremantle Gigs

The Fremantle Festival has strung an exciting batch of gigs, talks and shows together to create a diverse arts festival for 2016. From the spectacular indigenous Wardarnji Aboriginal Cultural Celebration, Waleed Aly keynote through to a solo Garreth Liddiard gig in a church, there's something for all.

As a part of this years celebration, Cool Perth Nights have curated several exciting musical acts playing from the 28th of October until the 5th of November. Here's our pick of the bunch! 

28th October

Headlining the opening night is the big hitter of Australian blue, C.W Stoneking. Playing at the Fremantle Town Hall will provide a magical setting for an awesome musical journey through his impressive catalog. C dubya has musical talent for days, and people who have witnessed this live will not stop telling you to get a ticket.

 

Also hitting us on the Friday night is a stellar lineup of interplanetary talent, Heavenly Bodies will feature Felicity Groom's sugary melodies, Marley Wynn of The Morning Light and THE TRIFFIDS, and The Mei Saraswati a cappella group. This will all be going down at St John's Anglican Church, which will prove to provide some ethereal acoustics and vibes.

31st October

Tonight Live with Abbe May at the Fremantle Town Hall will be one of the 'gigs' of the year. With free reign to reign in as much of Perth's musical talent as possible to play choice cuts and talk shop it'll be an enthralling night at the Fremantle Town Hall. Stay tuned for Abbe May's captain's picks!

3rd November

The Drones are the torchbearers of whatever it is they play. Their latest album Feelin' Kinda Free hits synth swollen melody and off-kilter bass driven sci-fi within 8 tracks and doesn't miss a beat. Add this to their past LPs and you know why you simply must not miss this iconic band playing at the Fremantle Town Hall. Garreth Liddiard is also an accomplished solo artist playing a gig at St George's Anglican Church which on the 5th of November which will simply be an out-of-this-world musical experience.
