It felt somewhat surreal to see her in the physical realm for Perth Festival for some reason.
Tempest wrung every emotional nuance from every word. Her versatility with the spoken word meant that as each track rolled into the next, subtle changes to her cadence made some become raps, some poetry, some sung.
With Origin and Falls well behind us, it was Laneway Festival’s turn to steal the spotlight of Perth’s festival scene.

I’ve been a fan of Lauren Daigle for a while now, so when I heard she was coming to Perth I was more than happy to attend her concert for her Look Up Child world tour. I sure wasn’t expecting what I got.
It’s hard not to fall in love with DeMarco’s careless yet intense live presence.

Despite not being 100% familiar with every artist, Falls is always such a great experience and a fantastic way to listen to some new and exciting music. The people, music, food, atmosphere and the organisation of it all were outstanding.

The main stage DJ desk was authoritarian, while the electronic screen at the ‘Warehouse’ made for an optical masterpiece, synchronising with artists while they perform.
The general sonic aesthetic of the night was filled with grunge, hard rock, elements of punk and metal, an audio palette that blends and ebbs quite nicely.
