Regardless of drunk tourists talking in front of me the whole show, I had an inexplicably amazing experience watching a band I can only describe as effortlessly enchanting, with a dirty grunge appeal. A band I will see again and a band I will recommend to all my friends and anyone reading this. Kudos to Half Moon Run.
To put this into perspective, the best metaphor I can express for hearing Stetson play is that the listener is on a ship searching for land in choppy sea, in the dark of night.
(Kurt Vile) is a much better than your average folk guitarist, he has a wonderfully drawly voice and most of all, he has song writing chops that would make Bob Dylan get all hot and flustered.
With often the ultimate blend of guiding bass, soothing guitar melodies and spacey drums, combined with that reverbed voice of beauty, this is probably going to sneak into being one of my favourite releases of the year so far.
