Fringe Preview: "History of House" brings a mesmerising fusion of Gospel and Dance Music

"History of House" is a collaborative musical project featuring DJ Groove Terminator and the Soweto Gospel Choir. This project aims to showcase the development of dance music from the 1970s to the 1990s, blending various styles from disco to pop, and focusing on house music from the mid-80s to the 90s.

DJ Groove Terminator, an ARIA-nominated artist, joins forces with the Soweto Gospel Choir, recognised for their three Grammy® awards, to create a unique musical experience. Their collaboration first premiered at the 2020 Adelaide Fringe to critical acclaim.

The performance integrates classic house music with the choir's vocal style, offering a diverse musical presentation. This initiative marks a significant partnership, combining nearly two decades of the Soweto Gospel Choir's influence in music with Groove Terminator's extensive career in the dance music scene.

In line with the spirit of Fringe, History of House is an example of how different music genres can converge to create an original live experience.

History of House will be showing at The Rechabite from January 19th - 28th. For further details and ticket information, visit the Fringe World website.
