Otherworldly Jaw-dropping "LIMBO" is a MUST-SEE Fringe World event

LIMBO left me speechless and it will undoubtedly have the same effect on you as well.

After its premiere at the Adelaide Fringe in 2013, LIMBO has toured the world with its hair-raising, edge-of-the-seat, physical-law-breaking performance. Rave review upon rave review could not prepare me for what was to come.

First, the ringleader and band members were introduced, followed by the players: Coney Island’s sword swallower and vintage beauty, Heather Holliday; French gravity-defying Chinese pole master, beatboxer and clown, Mikael Bres; Australia’s acrobatic dancing sensation Hilton Denis; the exquisite French-Canadian aerialist, Evelyne Allard; the unstoppable hand balancer Danik Abishev; and mind-bending contortionist and acrobat, Tigris.

The music and other sounds (seemingly otherworldly) were transportive, taking the audience on a journey through "limbo", each needing to please the ringleader if there was a chance of them getting out. Each set of stunts seemingly transitioned to the next, with the cast dancing and performing skits to entertain us while the stage was set up for the next act. Aside from the breath-taking stunts, I felt that the cast effectively allowed their personalities (and in some cases, cheekiness) to shine through. In one of the acrobatic acts, one of the performers grabbed an audience member's beer bottle right out of her hands and had a swig of it while swinging around! If that isn't intimate, I don't know what is.

Held in the beautiful Spiegeltent Palais des Glaces at Fringeworld, dirty and dangerous circus-cabaret LIMBO is certainly a must-watch for this Fringe season. Be prepared: I spent most of the show with my jaw dropped in amazement, worrying about acrobats falling to their deaths or all the fire singeing my eyebrows. It gets pretty hot in the netherworld.

LIMBO will be playing till the 6th of March so try not to miss out. Otherwise you'll be suffering form a serious case of FOMO.
