Hyper bringing homegrown line up to the stage in 2021

Hyper is returning in 2021 with three standalone events headlined by West Australian acts Spacey Jane, Stella Donnelly and San Cisco.

After a devastating cancellation of their sold out festival in March this year due to COVID-19, the Hyper team has created the series with a focus on top tier local artists in a COVID safe atmosphere.

Drug Aware Hyper presents Spacey Jane will kick off the series on Saturday, January 30. The evening will also feature WAM award-winning artist Carla Geneve, rising star Adrian Dzvuke and young-guns Muscle Club.

Next up in the series will be Drug Aware Hyper presents Stella Donnelly on Saturday, February 20. This show will also feature Jack Davies and the Bush Chooks, Flewnt, Mia June and Indigo Ellis.

The last show in the series, Drug Aware Hyper presents San Cisco, kicks off on Saturday, March 13 and features Triple J Unearthed High winner Arno Faraji as well as Noah Dillon and The Violets.

Each show has the low entry fee of $15 and all run from 5:30 – 10pm, with group ticket packages available.

Tickets will be sold in stages so that potential impacts of COVID and roll-backs to Phase 3 restrictions will not affect whether the shows will go ahead. The first allotment of tickets are guaranteed a placement at the show in Phase 3 and beyond, with the second allotment guaranteed for the current Phase 4 and beyond and otherwise refunded.

Each show has only 550 tickets available and these are expected to sell out quickly.

The events will be held in the Locale event space on the corner of Cale Street and The Crescent, Midland.

City of Swan Mayor Kevin Bailey said the City is delighted to bring Perth’s best all-ages festival back in concert format next year.

“Hyper attendees will also be able to enjoy gourmet food vans, a photo booth, free 18-hole adventure golf, games, merchandise and a signing tent for all of your favourite artists,” he said.

Midland/Guildford Ward Councillor Claire Scanlan said the safety of attendees and artists is the highest priority, and after carefully considering State Government guidance the City is now ready to deliver COVID-safe events.

“As we head towards the recovery phase of COVID-19 we can start reuniting our community and supporting our local music industry, and the next edition of Hyper will do exactly that,” she said.

The series of events, presented by Drug Aware and supported by Lotterywest, are all-ages, drug, smoke and alcohol-free events.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
