Scitech's Dome Date Night — Your Valentine's Day sorted

As part of Perth's 2018 Fringe World Festival, Scitech has been putting on a stellar show with its one-of-a-kind Dome Date Night

Seated in the Scitech Planetarium, I had no idea what was about to unfold. I'd suspected that stargazing was on the agenda, but what awaited was much more unique and telling. The evening began with a bang, going above and beyond with clever narration as well as complimentary drinks (and cupcakes!) on arrival. Talk about the height of romance. All that was left was to lie back and enjoy the immersive experience with your loved one beside you.

Once the lights dimmed we were magically guided through our galaxy's tale, with relaxation setting in shortly after. The 50-minute show was an immersive experience of cosmic proportions, with stardust-filled stories floating around farther than the eye could see. Not only had it left me awestruck, but it had also proved to be rather educational. By the end of it, everyone had been left wanting (and knowing) more.

In fact, it had really quite put things into perspective. In the grand scheme of things, all of us are really just specks of dust in the universe. Yet, no matter how unfathomable or vast it may be, it truly is remarkable that we get to savour love and live the lives we choose to every single day.

Whether or not you're thinking of something low-key this Valentine's Day, Dome Date Night offers the perfect setting to cosy up next your partner as you soar through the universe. (Ladies and gents, I want to see you getting onto those tickets faster than the speed of light.)
