LIVE NATION: Listen Out 2016 Preview

Unlike the likes of Stereosonic, Soundwave and Future festivals, Listen Out is back again this Spring, touring the nation for a fourth year, and the 2016 edition is destined to be the best yet.

On Sunday, September 25th, Listen Out is treating Perth music lovers with an exceptional line-up headlined by soul-rap visionary Anderson Paak and his backing ensemble the Free Nationals, trap lord A$AP Ferg and English rapper, grime star Stormzy.

Whilst Perth’s northern suburb kids, so accustomed to long and arduous journeys to reach festivals, finally have something to smile about, with the event moving to Western Parklands, HBF Arena Joondalup, which promises a bigger, better, greener venue.

The line-up is sure to enthuse a variety of music fans, with an awesome collection of hip-hop, electronic, trap, grime and soul artists. It features international acts such as the man behind the Harlem Shake, American trap and bass producer Baauer, LA-based genre blender Jauz, Swedish cloud rapper Yung Lean, German luminary Claptone with his new, live audio-visual show Immortal, future house Parisian producer Tchami and English garage duo Gorgon City delivering a DJ set.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Houston rapper Travis Scott has also been added to the line-up for his very first Australian tour. Having just postponed his new LP Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight by a fortnight, the album is set to drop on the 26th of August, giving fans plenty of time to become familiar with the new tunes before his set in September! Yet even with so much international talent on offer, as usual Australia hasn't failed to deliver it’s own collection of incredible artists.

Electronic acts Cosmo’s Midnight, Willow Beats and L D R U are bound to get the party started and Melbourne-based Sui Zhen is performing a DJ set. Listen Out also promises plenty of girl power, with classical pianist turned electronic singer-producer, 17yo Brisbane artist JOY, neo-soul songstress Ngaiire as well as the young and dynamic Melbourne self-taught artist Tash Sultana topping off a truly remarkable line-up.

For those that were quick enough to get tickets for the sold-out festival, you’re in for a truly amazing day out. Listen out for more news about Listen Out in the lead up to the 25th of September!
