Japanese Wallpaper's upcoming album 'Glow' + Australian tour

Gabriel Strum, otherwise known as Japanese Wallpaper, has recently released ‘Tongue Tied’ following the hit ‘Imaginary Friends’, ahead of his upcoming tour and new album Glow. (You can preorder it here!)

Glow will be Japanese Wallpaper’s first album released since his self-titled debut album in 2016.

The new single, ‘Tongue Tied’, is produced by Strum himself and Ben Allen, a Grammy Award winning producer who has collaborated with musicians such as Gnarls Barkley, Kaiser Chiefs and Animal Collective.

The track offers listeners insight into Strum’s life with depictions of uncertainty and resiliency balanced with his signature dreamy pop tone. Exasperated by his thoughts of failure and indifference, he delivers a single that shows his vulnerability.

It was in 2014 that the Melbourne-based artist created a name for himself, upon releasing ‘Breathe In’ featuring Wafia which was used by Zach Braff in his film Wish You Were Here. In the same year, he was triple j’s Unearthed High winner at only 17 years old.

As of late, he has produced music for Allday, Mallrat, Holy Holy, and Wafia, as well as remixed Charli XCX’s song ‘Need Ur Love’ and collaborated with Airling.

Soon, Strum will be performing throughout Australia in locations such as Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, and more from late October into early November, supported by Lontalius (who we also spoke to here)! The highly anticipated Glow tour will feature new songs off his upcoming album, set to release on October 18 via Wonderlick.
